The Russian fire "burns hot" Yiwu masks daily delivery of nearly 6 million

A continuous forest fire made masks a necessity for Russians and triggered a boom in mask sales. Recently, an interview with the Yiwu Small Commodity Market in Zhejiang revealed that the mask market, which was originally in the off-season, became hot due to the Russian forest fire. According to statistics from market managers, over the past few days, the daily sales of masks have exceeded 6 million, and most of them have been sold to Moscow.

In mid-July, continuous high-temperature weather caused a number of fires in forests in Voronezh region, Russia, and the area burned reached 190,000 hectares. The smoke produced by the continuous fire has caused the pollution of the ecological environment in many parts of Russia and the sharp drop in air quality. In particular, Moscow and Moscow have been enveloped in thick smoke for the past two weeks. People have to wear masks when they travel, and masks have become a must-have item for everyday life. To meet demand, many Russian businessmen rushed to Yiwu, Zhejiang to order masks.

“Summer was the off-season sales period for masks. Who knows that a forest fire will quickly heat it up.” On August 15th, Wu Xuzheng, a trader at Yiwu International Trade City, said that she had received several mask orders from Russian customers these days. Generalization requires 100 pieces, 5000 pieces each. "Now one or two days of orders can exceed the total sales for one month in May and June."

Wu Xuzhen introduced that most of the purchases purchased by the buyers are disposable masks, each of which is about 6 to 7 cents. In order to catch up with the market, customers all requested air transportation in the past. “Traditional transportation will take a month, and it may not be able to catch up with the booming trend. Air transport requires only 4 or 5 days, so all air cargo is required.”

Market statistics also show how fiery the current sales of masks in Yiwu are. According to statistics from market managers, over the past few days, the average daily sales of Yiwu masks exceeded 6 million, surpassing 5 million when it was raging. However, market management analysts believe that this sales boom will soon disappear. "The hot flashes brought by the fire will not last long. Once it is extinguished, the sales of masks will quickly fall back."
