Among the silicone polymers, the utility model and the widely used ones are mainly polymer electrolyte compounds in which the main chain structure is a silicon-oxygen bond, which is obtained by hydrolyzing polycondensation of a silicone monomer (such as an organohalosilane). Silicone resin is a kind of thermosetting resin with low molecular weight in polyorganosiloxane. The properties of silicone resin are as follows:

(1) Thermal stability. The Si-O bond of the silicone resin has a high bond energy (363 kJ/mol), so it is relatively stable, and has high heat resistance and high temperature resistance. Generally speaking, the thermal stability range is up to 200-250 ° C, and the special type of resin can be higher.

(2) Mechanical properties. The mechanical properties of the silicone resin after curing are not high. If a chlorophenyl group is introduced into the macromolecular backbone, the mechanical properties can be improved. The silicone resin glass fiber laminate has poor interlayer bonding strength, and the bending strength is greatly reduced when heated. When a phenylene group is introduced into the main chain, rigidity, strength, and use temperature can be improved.

(3) Electrical performance. Silicone resin has excellent electrical insulation properties, and its puncture strength, high voltage arc resistance and electric spark performance are excellent. When subjected to arcing and sparking, the resin removes organic groups even if it is cleaved, and the remaining silica on the surface also has good dielectric properties.

(4) Water repellency. The silicone resin has a very low water absorption, and the water droplets can only roll off on the surface and cannot be wetted. Therefore, the silicone resin glass fiber reinforced composite can maintain its excellent performance under humid environmental conditions.

(5) Corrosion resistance. The silicone resin glass fiber reinforced composite material may have a concentration (mass) of 10% to 30% sulfuric acid, 10% hydrochloric acid, 10% to 15% sodium hydroxide, 2% sodium carbonate, and 3% hydrogen peroxide. Alcohols, aliphatic hydrocarbons and lubricating oils have less effect on them, but are less resistant to concentrated sulfuric acid and certain solvents such as carbon tetrachloride, acetone and toluene.
