The core of BH is to make a carburizing medium (propane, RX gas, acetone, kerosene, etc.) to produce a part of positive tetravalent carbon ions in the atmosphere by adding a trace amount of infiltration agent in the carburizing atmosphere - positive tetravalent carbon ions (φ0. The volume of 15 nm) is only 1/135 of the volume of carbon ions (φ0.77 nm), so the activity is high, and the diffusion resistance is small and the diffusion speed is fast in austenite.

The main features of BH technology are as follows:

1. Under the condition that the process temperature is lowered by 40 °C or above (≥810 °C), the seepage speed of the workpiece at the original process temperature can be kept unchanged. It can reduce the deformation, reduce the tendency of grain coarsening of the product, and control the martensite level after the direct quenching of the intrinsic coarse grain steel, and significantly extend the life of the equipment and its heat-resistant components.

Second, at the same process temperature, it is more than 20% faster than conventional carburizing or carbonitriding, which can significantly reduce the holding time of the workpiece in the high temperature stage, save electricity costs, improve production efficiency and reduce deformation.

Third, BH technology can improve the activity of carbon in the atmosphere, reduce carbon black, significantly alleviate the problem of relatively more carbon black in the enrichment agent plus air direct atmosphere carburizing, and prolong the life of the oxygen probe.
