In order to further accelerate the pace of breed improvement in China's cattle industry and raise the level of production, the Ministry of Agriculture decided to introduce and promote Ashkenazi Simmental dairy cattle and cattle and related technologies through on-site inspection and full demonstration. The Ministry of Agriculture has entrusted the National Livestock Husbandry Station with the responsibility for concrete implementation. It is hoped that through the full implementation of this project, cooperation and exchange between animal breeding agencies, research institutes and universities in China and Germany will be promoted, mutual benefits will be achieved, and the overall technological level of breed improvement in China's cattle industry will be promoted.

The chairman of the National Animal Husbandry Station, Mr. Gu inherited, said that in order to organize the implementation of the Sino-German cooperation agreement, the National Animal Husbandry Station and German Breeding Breeding Company have fully negotiated and demonstrated and worked out a project implementation plan. According to the implementation plan, the National Animal Husbandry Station is responsible for organizing the implementation of the regional improvement test; the German Baoniu Breeding Center is responsible for providing high-quality frozen semen of the Ashkenazi Simmental milk and beef, and training technicians; the project experts are responsible for the centralized testing of the scale cattle farms. .

Gucheng told reporters that the project started in 2008 and ended in 2012, and the implementation time is five years. The contents of the implementation mainly include testing the effectiveness of German breeds of Simmental milk and beef with high-quality frozen semen to improve the existing Chinese cattle breeds, and assessing their economic benefits; and promote the advanced technologies of German livestock breeding, production and management. In order to improve the accuracy of the test results, two test methods will be adopted. First is the regional improvement test. Select provinces (districts) with obvious regional representativeness, solid improvement work, beef cattle production, and German Simmental milk and meat testing. The adaptability, production performance and improvement effect of cattle in the existing breeding conditions in China; the second is the concentration of cattle farm testing, the contents of which mainly include records of breeding, calf birth and growth and other information, determination of meat performance, milk use Performance, reproductive performance, etc. At present, according to the actual situation of China's cattle industry production, with the agreement of the Ministry of Agriculture and the provincial administrative department of animal husbandry, the National Animal Husbandry Station has selected Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Shandong, Henan, and Xinjiang as project implementation provinces (districts).
