What does Gibberellic Acid do

Gibberellic acid (Gibberellin A3 and GA3) is a plant hormone that found in plants and fungi.

Gibberellin A3 has many effects on plant growth, such as inducing flowering of long-short-day plants kept permanently in short-day photoperiods, changing the plants male and female ratio. The most characteristic effects of GA is prompt inter-node extension, enhance apical dominance and increase leaf-growth. It also can broken many forms of dormancy, such as potato tubers dormancy, seed dormancy and dormancy of shoot internodes and buds.

GA3 is widely used in vegetables, fruits and flowers to promote growth and retain freshness.
