The General Machinery Institute has developed a vertical cold swinging press to fill the domestic gap.

Recently, the Beijing Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering under the General Machinery Research Institute was entrusted with the acceptance of the "2000KN Vertical Cold Swing Rolling Machine Development Research" project. The 2000KN vertical cold pendulum machine developed by the institute is a product of independent intellectual property, filling a domestic gap and reaching international advanced standards. It was selected as one of the "First (Set) Major Technical Equipment Test and Demonstration Projects in Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in 2013." This recognition highlights its significance in the field of advanced manufacturing technology.

The vertical cold swing press is a high-end rotary plastic forming equipment that integrates mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems. It features a complex structure, advanced technology, and high technical difficulty, making it one of the most representative examples of China's advanced machinery and equipment manufacturing capabilities.

The project successfully developed a new oscillating head design with an innovative motion trajectory, achieving a key breakthrough in solving the issue of increased forming force in the central equipment during the swinging process. The cold swing machine has already produced prototypes for vehicle starting ratchets and differential speed mechanisms. Compared to traditional hot forging and machining methods, the bevel gear test pieces demonstrate significant energy savings and improved production efficiency. With its promising market potential, this technology has also secured invention patents, marking a major step forward in the development of advanced manufacturing solutions.
