Chlormequat chloride can prevent the biosynthesis of endogenous gibberellic acid (GA), to retard the cell elongation, shorten the plant. It also can improve the water absorbing capacity of root, which is affect the proline accumulate.
Chlormequat chloride can be degraded easily by the enzyme, and not easy to be fixed by the soil, so it won`t affect soil microbial activities and can be degraded by the microorganism.
