Greenland finds natural gas for fear of attracting oil

A British energy company discovered natural gas and oily sand in Greenland, and an Arctic oil war may be about to begin.

According to reports, the British Kane Energy Company recently announced the discovery of natural gas and oily sand near the coast of Greenland. A company spokesperson said that despite the fact that the gas reserves discovered in Baffin Bay were too small to satisfy commercial extraction, this indicates that there will be more significant discoveries in the region that can be applied to commercial mining.

Environmental groups fear that this discovery may trigger a war for oil, seriously ravaging the Arctic’s ecological environment. According to the environmental group, if a well similar to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill occurs in a well that was exploited in Greenland, it will bring even more terrible environmental catastrophe to the Arctic, because the oil spill is hard to evaporate at the low temperatures in the Arctic.

The environmental organization Greenpeace has sent ships to the area where gas was found to carry out raids and clashes with a Danish warship.
