This week saw a cautious market atmosphere, largely influenced by the May Day holiday, which led to a slowdown in trading activity and a general price drop across silicon wafers.
Monocrystalline wafers are currently being offered at prices between $7.8 RMB and $8.2 RMB per piece, while polycrystalline wafers are priced between $5.7 RMB and $6.1 RMB per piece. Transactions for both batteries and modules remain light, with prices holding steady amid limited demand.
Looking at the U.S. dollar pricing, the weakening demand has continued to put pressure on polysilicon spot prices, which dropped to an average of $16.5 USD/kg, marking a 2.71% decline from the previous week.
Concerns about demand in May have led buyers to adjust their expectations, causing a downward trend in silicon wafer prices this week. The average price for monocrystalline silicon wafers fell to $1.197 USD per piece, down 1.56%, while multi-crystalline wafers dropped to $0.897 USD per piece, a decrease of 1.86%.
In the battery segment, market sentiment remains mixed, with prices staying relatively stable. However, module prices showed some variation, with certain non-Chinese products commanding higher rates. The average module price this week reached $0.679 USD/Watt, reflecting a modest 0.44% increase compared to the previous period.
