Meanwhile, silicon wafer prices have experienced some downward pressure due to the influence of the May Day holiday, creating a cautious market environment and causing product prices to drop slightly.
Monocrystalline wafers are now being offered at prices from $7.8 RMB per piece to $8.2 RMB per piece, while polycrystalline wafers are available between $5.7 RMB and $6.1 RMB per piece. Transactions in both battery and module segments remain light, with prices remaining relatively stable.
In the U.S. dollar pricing context, the weakening demand has continued to put downward pressure on polysilicon spot prices, which have dropped to an average of $16.5 USD/kg—a decrease of 2.71% compared to the previous period.
Regarding silicon wafers, concerns about demand in May have led buyers to lower their price expectations. This week saw a simultaneous decline in the average prices of both mono-c-Si and multi-c-Si wafers. The average price for mono-c-Si wafers fell to $1.197 USD per piece, a decrease of 1.56%, while multi-c-Si wafers dropped to $0.897 USD per piece, a 1.86% decline.
Battery prices remained steady despite mixed market signals, while module prices showed some variation. Some non-Chinese modules were priced higher than others. The average module price this week reached $0.679 USD per watt, marking a slight increase of 0.44%.
Overall, the solar supply chain continues to face pressure from slowing demand, but there are signs of stabilization in certain areas, particularly in the module segment where specific products are holding firm.
