The most intuitive way for humans to understand the world is to see the colorful three-dimensional objective world through their eyes. However, from the early paper maps to the current electronic maps and satellite images, the abstract expressions of the objective world with specific mapping languages ​​are quite different from the real geographical environment. “The emergence of tilt photography has brought about revolutionary changes, and it is possible to objectively express the reality of the three-dimensional world.” Huang Yang, from the Institute of Economic Management of the National Surveying and Mapping Bureau of Geography, introduced that by carrying multiple sensors on the same flight platform, A vertical and multiple tilt angles simultaneously capture images, truly reflect the objective conditions of the surface, and impart accurate geographic information to the 3D model through advanced POS equipment.

"The 3D model constructed by tilt photography technology not only has the characteristics of ground full element reconstruction, but also ensures a more accurate model position relationship, creating a new era of 3D geographic information." Huang Yang said.

The Hebei Provincial Geographic Information Bureau first introduced the oblique photography and real-life 3D model making technology, and established the “Street View Factory Technology Center” in cooperation with the European Space Agency. At present, the bureau is the largest real-life three-dimensional data production base in China, and has completed the oblique flight and real-life three-dimensional data production of nine cities in Hebei Province. Real-life 3D data has been widely used in land, planning, meteorology, auditing, municipal, underground pipelines and other fields.

According to the person in charge of the Hebei Provincial Information Bureau, the original digital city 3D model was based on manual measurement vector data, and the material modeling was obtained by manual shooting. This method has low efficiency, long cycle, difficult to guarantee model accuracy, and the level of results is uneven. “It may take two or three years to complete a medium-sized city, and the city may have changed a lot during this time. Tilting photography has changed this labor-intensive operation and greatly improved efficiency. Take Shijiazhuang as an example. It takes only three to four months to complete the construction of the 3D real-world model of the entire city."

Due to its measurable characteristics, tilt photography and real-world 3D technology will play a huge role in the future urban construction. For example, in the cost accounting of urban building façade renovation, Huangyang does not need the field team to take the total station and 3D laser scanner to collect the façade of each building, and the building can be easily completed in front of the screen. Measurement, the missing part of the building can also simulate the restoration of the structure, estimating the cost of repair; in the sandstorm drill of the disaster, the height of the affected house, the shortest path that the nearby firefighting vehicle can reach, the distance of the crowd from the evacuation site, It is true and reliable data, and the results of the exercise can better assist decision-making.

The development of deep application of tilt photography is the main task of the domestic surveying and mapping geographic information community. The Hebei Information Bureau used the accumulated 3D real-world data advantages and Beijing SuperMap Software Co., Ltd. to complete the Tangshan World Expo Geographic Information Aided Planning System, and developed the Urban Reality 3D Integrated Application Supercity software platform to solve the oblique photography aviation data and quantity. The integration of street view data and indoor 3D data has realized the penetration and stepless browsing of aerial, ground and indoor image data, laying a foundation for the construction of smart cities.
