Kunlun jade test method

Kunlun jade inspection method:

From the comparison of the relative hardness of Mohs, Kunlun jade hardness is slightly lower than jade, so it is called "nephrite". Jade is called "hard jade."

Since then, the unclear definition of jade in China for thousands of years has been defined in the meaning of geology: it is distributed in the Kunlun Mountains and the Altun Mountains in China, and is formed by the contact between magmatic marble and medium-acid magma. The jade mine has nothing to do with the ultrabasic rock, and its cause is not the formation of regional metamorphism, but the formation of typical contact metamorphism.

The hornblende minerals can be divided into two subfamilies: slanted hornblende and monoclinic hornblende according to the different crystal systems. Monoclinic amphibole is a monoclinic system, mainly including tremolite, actinolite, and ordinary hornblende. When the main component of jade is tremolite, it is called tremolite jade. Studies have shown that the mineral composition of Kunlun jade is mainly tremolite, and the content is generally above 95%. This is very unique among the nephrites already found in the world.
