Proper maintenance of an extruder is essential to ensure its longevity and efficiency. Here are some key points to consider when protecting your extruder: (1) The casing bearings should be regularly lubricated with grease. After 500 hours of operation, the lubricating grease should be replaced. For new machines, it's recommended to change the oil after 200 hours of initial use to ensure optimal performance. (2) Other bearing components should also be greased on a regular basis to prevent excessive wear and tear. (3) When disassembling or assembling wearing parts such as screws and threaded sleeves, avoid using heavy hammers. Do not place heavy objects on the expansion chamber or stand on it. Also, make sure that the imported pump valve is properly handled to avoid damage. (4) Always finish the puffed material before stopping the machine. Be cautious of foreign objects, especially metal, entering the system, which can cause internal damage. (5) Regularly check the condition of the extruder and replace any worn parts promptly to maintain performance and safety. (6) Keep the area around the equipment clean and free from debris to reduce the risk of contamination or malfunction. (7) If the bulking material will not be used for an extended period, make sure to clean out the puffing chamber completely. This prevents clumping, mold, or cross-contamination between different materials. (8) Wearing parts near the discharge end tend to wear faster than those near the feeding port. Therefore, when replacing these parts, it's best to start from the discharge end and work your way back to ensure even wear and better performance.
