Shanxi Coking Coal Group Xishan Company Adds 10 Million Production Base

Xishan Co., Ltd. of Shanxi Coking Coal Group is a state-owned coal enterprise with a history of 49 years. After the original coal production reached 20 million tons in 2002, it relied on scientific and technological advancement and scientific management without putting into production of new mines or increasing production personnel. It has added a million tons of coal production base to the country.

Nishiyama’s predecessor, the Nishiyama Mining Bureau, used the first two 10 million tons respectively for 26 years and 21 years. In 2003, Xishan adhered to the scientific development concept to organize production, and relied on scientific and technological means to increase coal resource recovery and mine production. With fewer and fewer high-quality coal seams and difficult-to-wash coal preparations being shelved and stopped, Xishan Company invested 200 million yuan to reform the washing technology of 6 coal washing plants, completely solving the difficult technical problem of washing and sorting coal. The coal seam of the middle and lower groups has been liberated, the rational coal mining has been realized, the resource recovery rate has been improved, and the service life of the mine has been extended.

For the 40-year stoppage of coal mining, a large number of high-quality resources were discarded. Xishan introduced coal mining equipment and light low-level caving coal mining technology, completely solved the historical difficulties of thin coal seams that could not be mined mechanically, making Xishan coalfield 600 million tons of thin coal seams. Resources are expected to be fully recovered. In the past two years, Xishan has relied on scientific and technological means to add more than 6 million tons of recovered coal.
