According to the China National Defense Science and Technology Information Network, MD Helicopters from the United States is exploring the possibility of developing a hybrid helicopter model, with a focus on integrating 3D-printed components into its design. The new hybrid helicopter features a turboshaft engine but utilizes battery or solar power to support its avionics systems, effectively decoupling the engine from the electrical supply. The company has adopted some design elements from the French Dassault System and is currently working on specialized software tailored for this innovative aircraft. The development will continue at a facility in Massachusetts, USA, highlighting the company's commitment to domestic production and technological advancement.
