Watermelon vine cutting cultivation technique


Watermelon vines have better hair rooting ability and can be used for cutting cultivation, which can save seeds, shorten the growth period, and make watermelon in the morning market.

2. Prepare for cutting. 3. Picking vines from the mother plant. First sterilize the vine knife or scissors with 75% alcohol, then put the vine from the mother plant into a plastic bag to prevent loss of water and wilting. When selecting vines, try to select the base vine segment and keep the appropriate number of leaves.

4, cuttings. First pour the nutrient soil through the water, then cut the collected vine with a safety knife (sterilized with 75% alcohol) into small pieces with 2-3 leaves per segment, and cut one leaf of the base together with the handle, if any The leaves, tendrils, flower buds, etc. should also be cut off, and the stem segments are retained to facilitate the generation of adventitious roots. Cut the incision under the cut into a horseshoe shape, immerse in the rooting solution for half a minute, then insert the vine and the glutinous surface at an angle of 45 degrees and a depth of about 3.5 cm. The vine, the rooting solution and the cutting operation should be carried out continuously, and the small arch shed film should be placed immediately after the insertion.

5. Management. Cover the film with a straw curtain within 3 days after insertion to cover the sunlight. 4-6 days only after noon sunshade, after the 7th day, the straw curtain is removed and no longer shaded. After inserting the vine, the surface temperature of 2 cm is maintained at 28-32 ° C during the day and 20-22 ° C at night to facilitate rooting. When the local surface is 2 cm below the ground temperature of 14 ° C, it is not possible to insert vines, and it will not take root after insertion. Insulation and temperature adjustment can be adjusted by the arch film and the straw cover. Within 1-3 days after insertion of vines, the relative humidity of the air in the raft is 95-100%, 4-6 days is reduced to 90-95%, and 7-10 days is reduced to 80-85% until colonization. Within 3 days after the insertion of the vine, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution was sprayed once a day in the morning and afternoon. Within 1-7 days after inserting the vine, spray the rooting solution once every 1-2 days at the base of the vine, about 10 ml per plant.

6, Daejeon planting. 15-20 days after inserting the vine, the roots of the cuttings can be colonized when many adventitious roots are emitted. It can be cultivated and managed at a conventional density.
