As the flood season approaches, the Puyang City Administration Bureau has initiated dredging operations in the Xiangyang urban area to ensure the smooth operation of the city's drainage system. Starting on April 20, the team began clearing the main and secondary road drainage networks and manholes, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the urban infrastructure before the rainy season.

The project is scheduled to last 45 days and is expected to be completed by the end of May. Throughout the process, staff will strictly adhere to the "Drainage Pipeline Safety and Technical Regulations" to ensure the safety of both workers and the public. Construction sites will be clearly marked with safety signs and warning lights at both ends of the work zone. Road signs will be placed along the roads, and all personnel must wear reflective vests and hard hats for visibility and protection.

The dredging method combines manual and mechanical cleaning, using a dredging winch to loosen, move, sweep, and clean the accumulated silt within the pipelines. Workers are required to maintain cleanliness at the site, ensuring that excavated mud is properly removed and not left on the ground, helping to keep the streets tidy during the operation.

Once completed, the dredging will significantly improve the drainage system’s performance, reduce blockages, and extend the lifespan of the underground pipes. The city administration acknowledges that the project may cause some inconvenience to residents and hopes for their understanding and support during this critical maintenance period.
