Brief Analysis of Proportion Distribution of Plastic Dry Coloring

Plastic coloring refers to a process in which a certain amount of color material is uniformly mixed and dispersed with a natural color plastic to be uniformly dispersed in a plastic, thereby obtaining a uniform color of the plastic as a whole.

Commonly used plastic coloring methods include dry coloring, paste coloring (color paste) coloring, color particle coloring, masterbatch coloring, and the like. The following mainly introduces the widely used dry coloring.

Dry coloring means that the powdery coloring agent and the auxiliary agent are accurately metered according to the formula ratio, and then added to the plastic metered by the formula, and uniformly mixed in the presence of a suitable auxiliary dyeing agent such as white oil or turpentine. The mixture is then fed directly to a forming apparatus for injection molding or extrusion processing to obtain a method of making a colored plastic.

Although dry coloring has the disadvantages of being easy to pollute the environment and poor dispersion effect, it is simple and easy to operate, relatively low in cost, and easy to prepare a variety of colors, and is particularly suitable for production of small batches of multiple colors.

Since this method is not limited by the color of the masterbatch color as the color masterbatch coloring method, it is still widely used in many small and medium-sized plastic processing plants.

Dry coloration requires good mixing, and efficient mixing equipment such as a paddle mixer, a tumbler mixer, a paddle kneader, and the like can be used. In small factories with poor conditions, it is also possible to add the metered coloring agent and plastic to the white oil in a certain container and mix it by hand.

For dry coloring, some formulations may have poor colorant dispersion effects in production, and there are defects in color spots and stains. For example, black spots may be caused by graying with carbon black.

For this reason, I suggest to use color granules, that is, the mixture obtained by dry coloring is first subjected to extrusion granulation to form colored granules, so that the coloring effect is greatly improved, but the cost is increased by increasing the granulation process. improve.

The dry coloring method requires accurate stress when measuring the coloring agent, otherwise chromatic aberration will occur. It is recommended to use an electronic balance with an accuracy of 0.01g and a maximum weighing of 500g as a coloring agent to minimize the weighing error.
