Articles to be built for interior wooden door construction

When installing doors in high-humidity areas like kitchens, bathrooms, and basements, it's important to avoid letting the door frame touch the floor directly. A small gap of 2-3 mm should be left between the door frame and the ground, then sealed with glass glue. This prevents moisture from causing warping or deformation of the door. The door frame should be positioned as close to the wall as possible. However, since walls may not always be perfectly vertical or evenly thick, there might be a gap between the frame and the wall. This gap should be filled with a sealant to ensure a tight and secure fit.

Experts advise homeowners that if the walls are covered with wallpaper, it's crucial to use neutral adhesive instead of regular glue. Apply waterproof glue evenly on the contact area between the door frame and the wall surface to ensure a strong bond. If any excess glue is visible, it should be removed immediately to avoid unsightly residue. Additionally, doors and back panels in kitchens and bathrooms should be made of waterproof and corrosion-resistant materials. This helps prevent discoloration, peeling, and mildew damage caused by moisture absorption through the door edges.

During installation, many homeowners mistakenly believe that all gaps should be completely filled with foam glue. However, experts recommend leaving a small space of about 5 cm. This allows the foam to expand properly, ensuring good ventilation and curing. Foam is elastic and malleable, so if it's packed too tightly, it can push the door frame out of alignment or cause the wall to not adhere properly. This could lead to a warped door that doesn’t close properly. It’s better to follow professional guidelines to achieve a long-lasting and functional installation.
