He Wei: New energy development will focus on solar energy and nuclear energy

Academician He Wei, a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, recently shared his insights on the future direction of new energy development. According to him, the main focus will be on solar and nuclear energy. In particular, he highlighted that third-generation photovoltaic technology is set to replace the earlier generations in the solar power industry.

He emphasized the importance of building solar energy storage facilities on water surfaces, which he believes are both cost-effective and environmentally friendly. This approach helps avoid the use of valuable farmland, making it a smart and sustainable solution for energy production.

The third-generation photovoltaic technology combines solar-smelting silicon with tracking systems, spotlights, and high-efficiency concentrating silicon batteries. It's known for being green, efficient, low-cost, and long-lasting. The "green" aspect is its most significant advantage. At the core of this technology is solar silicon, which uses sunlight directly rather than electricity. Although it requires energy, it's not from the grid but from the sun itself, resulting in near-zero pollution.

In the field of nuclear energy, He Wei supports its development but suggests it should be focused more on coastal or offshore areas. He proposed using nuclear power to enhance naval capabilities, giving warships and fleets an almost unlimited energy supply. This vision could revolutionize maritime operations while reducing reliance on traditional fuel sources.

Regarding electric vehicles, He Wei believes the emphasis should be on small and medium-sized models suited for towns and rural areas. He suggested that these vehicles should have a range of at least 120 kilometers, a top speed over 80 km/h, and the ability to carry 3–4 passengers or 200–400 kg of cargo. These specifications would make them practical and accessible for everyday use in less densely populated regions.

He also discussed the potential of rear-wheel electric vehicles, which may combine hub motors, energy storage systems, and vehicle carriers. Standardizing the hub motor through independent research institutions could simplify the design and improve efficiency. By eliminating the need for complex transmission systems, such vehicles can achieve better performance and easier upgrades. Adding more motors—like increasing from 4 to 6 or even 8—could boost power, provided that chassis technology is advanced enough to support it.

Deep Well Plate

Deep well Plate is an ideal product for sample storage, we have many types of 96 Deep Well Plate, such as 0.5ml elution plate, 1.2ml square well V bottom plate, 2.0ml round well U botttom plate for Hamilton and Nunc machines, 2.2ml square well V bottom and 2.2ml square well U bottom. They can be sterilized under high press, and keep the shape for 20 minutes even the temperature arrives at 121℃,All these characteristics set a new standard for the laboratory.
