Pneumatic pressure pump composition and principle

Pneumatic pressure pump composition and principle: This type of pump consists of two main sections: the pneumatic part and the hydraulic part, working together to achieve efficient fluid compression. The pneumatic section includes a lightweight piston equipped with an O-ring, surrounded by a glass fiber-wound or hard-anodized aluminum outer casing. Inside, an epoxy resin-filled sleeve houses the piston, ensuring stability and durability. The diameter of the air piston remains consistent across all models in a given series. When compressed air is introduced, the piston moves into the compression stroke, while the return stroke is typically driven by the air itself—except in the M Series, which uses a spring return mechanism. Unlike many other pumps, Haskel’s design eliminates the need for lubricants due to its low-friction construction and minimal assembly lubrication. The hydraulic section features a piston or plunger directly connected to the pneumatic piston. The lower end of this component is housed within the hydraulic chamber. The diameter of the hydraulic piston determines the pump’s compression ratio, which directly affects the output flow rate and maximum pressure. Its primary function is to draw liquid in through the inlet control valve and discharge it at high pressure via the outlet control valve. A spring-loaded check valve is integrated to manage the flow of liquid. During the intake stroke, the inlet valve opens while the outlet valve closes, allowing fluid to enter. During the compression stroke, the inlet valve closes, and the hydraulic piston forces the liquid out through the outlet valve. The dynamic seal surrounding the hydraulic piston is nearly wear-free, designed to contain pressurized liquid and prevent leakage into the pneumatic section. The choice of sealing material and design depends on the type of fluid, operating temperature, and pressure ratio. A key feature of Haskel pumps is the positioner located between the pneumatic and hydraulic sections, ensuring complete separation and contamination-free operation. The air circulation valve controls the direction of compressed air, using a plunger and controller to direct airflow to either side of the piston. As the piston moves, it actuates the control valve, alternating between pressurization and venting to maintain continuous reciprocating motion. Exhausted air passes through an exhaust muffler, reducing noise and ensuring smooth operation. Unlike traditional designs, Haskel pumps avoid metal-to-metal contact, minimizing the risk of failure in case of a leak. This innovative approach ensures reliable performance under various conditions.
